Its annual general meeting and cottage show. ESCAPE was there! Several dedicated ESCAPE supporters were on hand throughout the show to answer questions and raise awareness about our very special boating group.
“ The entire benefit to having a cottage at Lake of the Woods is to take advantage of the immense boating opportunity,” remarked one excited show attendee after visiting our booth.
Many cottagers own boats but do not realize the existence of a boating group whose mandate is to help boaters navigate safely throughout the lake.
“ I would love to safely see and enjoy more of the lake,” quipped another cottager.
Many leaflets outlining our 2008 spring and summer itinerary were distributed at the show. Several attendees were surprised to discover that ESCAPE is truly family oriented and that children and dogs are most welcome to attend.
Every anchorage offers accommodation rentals if your boat is too small to sleep on. “ESCAPE participants are the most helpful, kindest people in the world. We have made so many good friends from attending ESCAPE events,” stated Diane Holmstorm.

Alain and I, Diane (Dave was home sick) Barb and Stan were at the booth. That was enough people though. There were quite the number of people there and lots showed interest. They were all given the brochure with the website on it. Several said they had done it years ago and would like to get back into it. Others said they had seen our caravans go by and thought it would be a lot of fun. We explained to them that no boat was really too small. As long as they had a boat they could tag along as there is always a resort near by that they could stay at or go back to their own cottage on the lake at night.
